Lucys first race !!! Frosty mountian 27 km

 The day started off at 5 am when I went to pick up Penny ! We were leaving almost 4 1/2 hrs early to get to Manning park . I didn't want to feel rushed !
When we arrived in Hope we decided to pull off for a coffee at Tim Horton's , and when we left the parking lot we were confused on which high way to go on , but Penny decided she remembered and we should take #5 ....WRONG ! We drove  that freeway until MERRITT ! Penny then leans over to me and asks "Dayna why are we in Merritt ?"
Ummm ....you told us to ! Yikes ! we turned around  1 1/2 hrs late for the start of the race AHHHH
Geoffrey the race director still let us race . He called back the sweeps , and told them to stop taking down the flags ! When we passed the sweeps and got to the top of Frosty mountain Penny decided that she thought we need to climb to the second peak of the mountain ...umm are you sure I ask ??
So we do and yup FAIL ! as we were climbing the second peak . The sweeps passed us taking the flags ....OPPS . When a old lady asked why we were up here and the rest of the race was down there we knew we had gone the wrong way ...DANG IT !
When we finally made it down the mountain ...NO FLAGS ! so we had to decide which way to go
I asked Penny and she told me to go left , so I said OK we will go right  hahaha trust was gone with her !
Finally after 6 hrs and 28 minutes Lucy finished her first race ! I love my dog so much !
Penny and never once got stressed we were there to see new trails , run with Lucy ! just enjoy the adventure .
Like I always say
I would rather cross  the finish line with a friend and have a great adventure .
Then cross the finish line alone and have a personal best race !
