The gang and I met at 5:30 at the Church to head in to Squamish to catch the shuttle bus to the start line of the is race . On the way we saw 2 bears ...a highlight for sure !
This was the first race that I didnt cross with Bob and It was weird to leave him , or lisa , and then catch up to Ed and then Pass him . I have never left my friends before I didnt even know why I was really . I just know that they wanted me to try my best and not wait . I was nervous because there was a lot of bears in whistler . I was also nervous that I would get lost even though the trail was marked really well . So i decided to say good bye to the gang for the first time .
I just put on my head phones and ran . I felt so good in this race my legs felt great and I felt like I could run forever .
I loved this trail lots of ups and downs and technical enough to keep you thinking about your steps,and the views were amazing .
I crossed the finish line in 3 hrs 23mins I guess I could of done better if I didnt wait for friends or take pictures for a lot of this race , but I found out in this race by leaving my friends that Crossing the finish line alone was LAME!!! I missed my friends , I missed the hugs and high fives I learned that
I would rather have a great adventure with friends .... Then a personal best race .
I love my running friends !
