PENTICTION GRAND FONDO BIKE RIDE 160 KM

After crashing my bike three years ago and having a level 3 concussions and a torn ac joint in my shoulder that put me 5 days in the hospital , and 4 months off work . I never thought I would ever ride a grand fondo with 4,000 people taking off on there bikes racing , but I thought this is the only way I will ever get over my fear of crashing or been hit by a car .
I remember the feeling at the start line heart racing nervous and ready to get this started before fear took over 
My plan was to just finish and not race I didn't care about how long it took me I just want to be safe . .I new the only way to do this was to have Kyle ride with me .
The ride was really scary at first really tight and everyone was fighting to get to the front , but I just let every one pass me . I saw about 5 crashes and stopped to help one girl that had clearly broke her hip and was in shock . At the  accident they had lots of helping so I decided to start riding and just as I was going to start riding again   I  ran in to a guy I met in the cancer ride Patrick that was a doctor he also was helping the girl . Pat then decided to Join Kyle and I for the rest of the ride . 
The ride from pentiction through summer land and Odysseus  and back to Pentiction was a challenge for sure lots of crazy climbs  , but so beautiful . I loved how every town that we went through was out in the streets cheering us on,  family's , kids , cars waving there hands out the windows it was amazing support .  ...This race It was something that I could do every year .

It was perfect to have that race in Pentiction near Robins sisters house so we spent time with family and got a ride in ..love it !
