Taking as many Kids as I can up the grouse grind

The grouse Grind is about 2.9 km in long and about 2,800 elevation gain . It takes the average person any where from 1-2 hrs the climb to the top of the  base of grouse mountain .
I started to do the grouse grind about 8 years ago and I can still remember my first time 1:15 and I thought honestly i was going to die . I was with my sister and Sonia it was all of our first times doing this never ending stair case together . We all felt the pain right away and couldnt believe that people called this fun I will never forget Tami asking if we think Search and rescue will come and get her ...haha I love it ! she still has yet to return .
I for some reason started to do it all the time and grew to love it , chasing my time was my favorite new work out . I just loved the challenge and the feeling I got everytime I started and finished .It was a love hate for sure .
The first time I took Chandler he was 8 and He was with his cousin Kaden I just loved to watch the boys run up the mountain together and when they reach to top to see how proud they were , the high 5 's were the best part  such team work .
Chandler and I started to do it a lot together when I was hurt last  summer we took so many of his friends up to challenge me up the grind , and they  always  beat me to the top  and I always rewarded them with not letting them take the Gondola down and make them hike the  BCMC trail down OH WOULD  THEY   BE MAD  ..... I would just smile and say   " well I cant help it if I am a sore loser "  . The truth is I just could afford to pay for everyone to get a ride down . I think in the end they had more fun on the way down the trail any way .
Chandler Times were getting faster so I entered him and I in the Grouse grind race  He placed 10 th in his age group  his time was 49:25  I was so proud .....I hope this is something  we will do together  every year .
